Qualified Mechanic / Automotive Technician – Berwick

Job description

Berwick Enterprise Automotive is looking for a full-time Qualified Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join the workshop in Berwick, VIC. This role is offered at $42.00 per hour starting. The position will suit a trade-qualified technician who can work across a range of mechanical repairs and confidently take on larger jobs. Experience with major repair work such as engines and cylinder heads is important for this vacancy, along with strong technical knowledge and clear communication on the job.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carry out mechanical repairs and servicing to a professional standard
• Diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical faults
• Complete larger mechanical jobs, including engine and cylinder head work
• Use workshop tools and equipment safely and appropriately
• Communicate clearly with the team and contribute to a productive workplace

Skills & requirements

Required

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• At least five years' relevant experience
• Current driver's licence
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct repairs
• Basic computer skills
• Mechanical parts knowledge
• Good work ethic and motivated

Advantageous

• Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) licence
• Refrigerant handling / A/C licence
• Forklift licence
• Experience with Microbase Automation
