Whitbread Automotive in West Kempsey is looking for a Qualified Automotive Technician to join the workshop on a full-time basis.

Remuneration is above award wage for the right applicant. This role will suit a trade-qualified technician who can carry out a range of mechanical repair work using the correct tools and equipment, and who brings solid mechanical parts knowledge. Experience with wheel alignment and accessory fitting is also relevant to this position.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out automotive mechanical repairs to a consistent standard
• Completing wheel alignments when required
• Accessory fitting as required
• Using workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Applying sound mechanical parts knowledge to repair tasks
• Communicating clearly with others in the workplace

Skills & requirements

Required:

• Trade qualified automotive technician
• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• At least five years’ relevant experience
• Current driver’s licence
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct repairs
• Mechanical parts knowledge

Advantageous:

• RWC licence
• Forklift licence
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with Microbase Automation
• Wheel alignment and accessory fitting experience
