With the proliferation of vehicles with modified ECU’s and other performance modifications, as well as drivers who don’t mind giving their vehicles a bit of a thrashing, EXEDY has identified a requirement for a heavy-duty clutch for 4WD applications that would even exceed the performance of the well-known Safari Tuff clutch.
As part of the gruelling development process, prototypes were fitted to a fleet of test vehicles. Rigorous testing which included varied conditions where transmission of increased torque through the drivetrain was required showed extended endurance and durability along with enhanced drive train dynamics and maximised power transfer.
All Safari Tuff Heavy Duty Kits include a clutch disc with improved damper springs and premium high coefficient friction material; coupled together with an upgraded Safari Tuff clutch heavy-duty cover resulting in the highest clamping force in the EXEDY range.
