Put yourself in the shoes of a prospective employer, which technician are you inviting to apply for your position?
Your Mechanic.com.au Profile is the perfect opportunity to let prospective employers know a little bit about you to see if you might be a good fit for their business. A profile summary with no detail as shown in the top example above, is unlikely to attract any interest.

It is not until you actually apply for a job vacancy that your full profile and contact details are unlocked to the business.
1) Make sure you are logged in to your mechanic.com.au account. Having trouble logging in?
2) Click on your name in the top right hand corner of the page
3) Select 'Edit Profille' to change from 'View Mode' to 'Edit Mode'
4) Select the pencil to edit a section and the save icon when you're done!
5) Make sure your profile is set to 'I am actively looking for opportunities' in order to receive job invites.
Who can see my profile?
Only you can see your profile until you apply for a job vacancy. Doing so will allow the job advertiser to review your profile too. Other members of mechanic.com.au cannot see your profile.
Will I get invited to jobs?
You must have your profile set to 'I am actively looking for opportunities' in order to be listed in the technician directory so make sure you have done this using the instructions above. Conversely, if you do not want to receive job invites, change this setting to 'I'm not interested in opportunities'
How do I apply for a job?
On the job advertisement, simply click 'Apply Now', you'll get a chance to upload a cover letter and resume if you wish.
How does the recruitment process work?
As a member of mechanic.com.au, you can always see job vacancies that are near you as well as search and apply for vacancies nation-wide.
Another unique feature of the Mechanic.com.au website is that businesses can search for available technicians in their area that are interested in opportunities.
Using this feature, a business can only see a limited amount of information about the technician.
If they think you might be a good fit for their job vacancy based on the information in your technician summary, they will invite you to apply for their position.
You'll receive an e-mail alert with a link to their job vacancy. If you are interested in applying, you can go ahead and unlock your full profile to the business and upload a cover letter and/or resume if you wish.
