It goes without saying that we are all facing challenging and uncertain times; ourselves as repairers as well as our valued customers for whom vehicle maintenance may not currently be top of mind. Therefore, we need to ensure that we are playing an active role in keeping our customer's vehicles safe and reliable at a time they may depend on them most.

Many of our customers are trying to conserve finances during these trying times, which is understandable. They might think that postponing their vehicle servicing is an opportune way to do this, not realising the catastrophic results delayed servicing can have on a modern vehicle.

Over the past weeks, it is likely that you have reached out to friends and family to check on their welfare, so why not take this opportunity to do the same with your customer base via an e-mail campaign, SMS or by simply giving them a call? This small gesture can go a long way and is an opportunity to remind your customers that the relatively low investment of regular servicing will far outweigh the expense of major repairs that can be caused by delaying servicing.

Many of us have been adversely impacted by the current economic situation, so while we are being vigilant about keeping our customer's vehicles safe and on the road, we also need to ensure that we are not leaving sales opportunities on the table. Especially, at a time where cash flow is so vital to maintain our business and retain our staff so that we are able to provide car servicing and repairs to our local communities for many years to come.

Taking these things into consideration, we have put together this 16 Step Vehicle Health Check in collaboration with our Premier Community Partners in an effort to help you help your business, customers, and staff members. You may choose to complete this checklist on each vehicle that comes through your workshop (where practical) or you may want to extend this as a free service to your customer base, the choice is yours. We simply hope it is helpful to you in some way.

Above all, we need to ensure that we protect the health and safety of our staff members, so we encourage you to follow the necessary directives and precautions outlined by your state or territory health authority. This may include wearing face masks and/or gloves as well as sanitising vehicle touchpoints upon commencing and completing work.
