2017 Kim Aunger Award Winner Andrew Nolan presents Ryan Davis with the award
Mechanic.com.au Managing Director, Ryan Davis has been honoured by receiving the Kim Aunger Young Achiever Award at the 2019 Australian Automotive Aftermarket Awards Ceremony, held at Crown Palladium Grand Ballroom in Melbourne on the 4th of April 2019.
The Australian Auto Aftermarket Awards recognise innovation and outstanding contribution to the development of the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Industry. Winners of these prestigious awards represent the elite group of organisations and individuals who set the benchmark for excellence across a wide variety of marketing, manufacturing, products and service award categories.
This award is in honour of one of the founders and former Presidents of the AAAA National Council, Kim Aunger, who tragically lost his life whilst still in his prime. Starting his career in plastic injection moulding, Kim built a successful business in the automotive aftermarket. Since 1992 this award has been presented to inspiring young achievers under the age of 35 in the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Industry who have demonstrated leadership, vision and innovation to make a positive impact on the industry and their peers.
Ryan Davis accepts the 2019 Kim Aunger Young Achiever Award
Upon accepting the award, Ryan Davis remarked that ‘This would not have been possible if not for the thousands of mechanics across Australia that make Mechanic.com.au - The Home of Australia's Mechanics, the collaborative and vibrant community that it is today’ and noted that ‘Each and every member of Mechanic.com.au plays a pivotal role in defining our organisations culture.’
Ryan goes on to say ‘This also would not be possible, without our Premier Community Partner brands (Bendix, Century, DBA, Gates, Exedy, Narva, NGK, Monroe, Penrite, Ryco & Trico) who support the Mechanic.com.au Platform by providing their expertise, input and resources.’
In an interview following the awards ceremony, when asked what the award meant to Ryan, he stated: ‘I’m truly honoured to have been recognised with this prestigious award, it really makes all the hard work and late nights worthwhile’
When asked what is next on the horizon for Mechanic.com.au, Ryan remarked ‘Mechanic.com.au is just getting started, we’re going to be making some big moves, so watch this space!’
Ryan also wished to congratulate the other recipients of Australian Auto Aftermarket Awards saying there were some very deserving persons and organisations receiving recognition for their considerable efforts towards the industry.
