Ryco SynTec™ has been engineered to exceed standard original equipment filters utilising Ryco SynTec™ synthetic Nano fibre media that has superior particle removal to withstand the harsh conditions arising from extended drain periods. This media also offers additional very high initial efficiency (99.8% @ 25 micron) not offered by standard filters and low restriction to flow which is beneficial at engine start up when cold. All this provides the vehicles engine with increased engine protection within the service life of the filter (15,000 kms).

How do I know if there's a Ryco Syntec Filter to fit a particular vehicle?
The SynTec range includes popular 18 spin on Oil Filters and one cartridge oil filter that cover over 10.9 million vehicles in the Australian car parc. The part numbers are some of Ryco's most recognisable filters like Z9 and Z79A now available in the SynTec range as Z9ST and Z79AST.
The easiest way to determine if your vehicle has a SynTec filter fit is to use the Ryco Filter Finder to search for your vehicle. When you have the correct model by year, if the SynTec filter is ranged for your particular application it will be listed in the oil filter column.

What is High Efficiency?
High efficiency is best explained by comparing how good the filter is at removing harmful particles from the oil at a given particle size. Conventional cellulous based oil filter media have a very low initial efficiency during the early stages of its life this means more particles smaller than 25µm are able to pass through the filter.
100% synthetic media in comparison have a very high initial efficiency while maintaining a low restriction across the filter; this means the filter is removing more contaminants smaller than 25µm
High Efficiency Media
Ryco Syntec High Efficiency Media is made using the latest manufacturing techniques, which includes the use of Nano Fibres. These provide a tightly woven synthetic media, with a dense tortuous path, designed to trap more dirt as oil moves through it, without increasing the pressure drop across the filter. The efficiency and life rating of this filter ensures that it maintains a life of 15,000 kilometres while not compromising the flow of oil.
