Dear Team,
Despite what has been an exceptionally turbulent year for us all, I hope that you are doing well and are in good spirits. 2020 has presented us with many challenges and obstacles, both in business as well as personally.
COVID-19 has underlined the importance of the services that we, as repairers, provide to our communities but has also been a healthy reminder that we shouldn’t get too comfortable with the way that we operate our businesses. As a consequence of the unprecedented impact COVID-19 has had, many of us are re-evaluating our approach and strategy; from our marketing, right through to the way that we deliver our services. Of course, some of the things that have been thrown our way have been beyond what any degree of planning or strategy could have possibly overcome. In most cases, we have done our absolute best and come out the other side with a few bumps and bruises but otherwise stronger operators.
We have also had to adapt on a personal level in many different ways; from how we live our day-to-day lives, the way we stay connected with and support friends and family and also how we celebrate events and milestones, all while meeting the many personal challenges and pressures that have been placed upon us.
In either case, 2020 has shown us just how resilient we can be in the face of change and uncertainty, to which we owe a lot to banding together and supporting one another, which is the foundation upon which Mechanic.com.au is built. There is an old saying that ‘a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor’ and given the tidal wave that this year has been, we can say with confidence that we are all adequately equipped to navigate whatever 2021 has in store for us.
Here at Mechanic.com.au, we have been working on an exciting new project that will enable repairers to innovate and thrive in this ‘new world’ that has been thrust upon us and we look forward to sharing this with you early in the new year. In the meantime, we hope you take some time over the holidays to recharge the batteries and do whatever it is that makes you happy. We look forward to seeing you on the other side of 2020 for an even bigger and better year!
Best wishes,
Ryan Davis
