Job description
As a Mechanic, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth functioning and safety of vehicles. Your primary responsibility will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various makes of vehicles, car and 4WD. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Monday to Friday only. 4 day week option available, must be able to work solely with confidence, skill and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and Repair: Operate advanced diagnostic tools and have techniques to identify mechanical, electrical, and other issues in vehicles. Conduct thorough inspections to pinpoint problems accurately and perform necessary repairs efficiently.
- Maintenance Services: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, repairs and fluid checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance and longevity. Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards for maintenance procedures.
- Component Replacement: Replace and install defective or worn-out components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, timing belts, and suspension and cooling systems. Ensure proper alignment and calibration of replaced parts for optimal functionality.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct comprehensive testing and quality checks post-repair to verify the effectiveness of repairs and ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including diagnoses, repairs, parts used, and labor hours. Generate reports as necessary for internal documentation and customer communication.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, explain repair options, and provide cost estimates. Offer exceptional customer service to build trust and satisfaction.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and equipment.
Working Conditions: The role of a Mechanic involves working in a variety of environments conditions in the workshop. The job may require lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and exposure to various weather conditions. Flexible hours may be necessary to accommodate customer needs and workload fluctuations.
Skills & requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years proven experience as a qualified mechanic, preferably in an automotive repair shop or dealership.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical systems within a vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and technologies.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment such as scanners, multimeters, and oscilloscopes and tablets for reporting.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must Hold a completed certificate in light vehicle automotive mechanic, air conditioning license will also be an advantage
- Refirgerant gas / AC license advantageous
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
