As a Tyre Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient fitting, repairing, balancing, and rotating of tyres for various vehicles. Your commitment to high-quality workmanship and customer service will be key to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, remove, and replace tyres on passenger and light trucks, and heavy vehicles as needed.
- Carry out puncture repairs, wheel balancing, and tyre rotations efficiently.
- Conduct thorough tyre inspections and provide maintenance or replacement recommendations to customers.
- Operate workshop equipment safely, including tyre changers, wheel balancers, and alignment machines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.
- Record all work accurately and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by providing clear advice and support to clients.
- Assist with stock control and ensure the correct tyres are fitted to vehicles.
- Follow workplace health and safety standards diligently.
Skills & requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical hands-on skills.
- Excellent problem-solving ability with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and manual handling.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in tyre fitting, automotive service, or a mechanical workshop environment is preferred but not essential.
- Current valid driver’s licence (essential).
- Forklift licence (advantageous, not essential).
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and workshop safety is a plus.
